When we first start at Primary school, we are on the bottom level. We are total novices - unaware of the culture, rules of the game, social setting. When you get to your final year, you’ve become a pro and know all the ropes. And when you look back, you realise the fun you had, only in hindsight. However, what you can’t prepare yourself for is that you are on the verge of becoming bottom of a new Secondary school and being a novice all over again.
So as you go through life, the cycle continues as you start and leave University, as you start new roles at your work place or start a new family. But the difference is we have more control of when we start a new cycle.
We decide to move to a new country, start a job or set up a new venture. Even though it can be scary at first, before you know it, you are at the end of the cycle, familiar with all the ins and outs.
So don’t hold back and get comfortable at the top level of wherever you end up, for too long. Be brave and take steps to set yourself new challenges. Don’t end up with regrets. So look at where you are and where you’ve come from and have a look at where you could end up.
