When I was just starting out writing my novel, I didn’t have a clear plan. I committed to spending 10am-2pm writing every week day and that’s all I knew.
What I found was I would first sit there and stare at a blank page and it was really uncomfortable, but no matter how difficult it felt, I honoured that sacred writing window whether words came or not.
What I found was, words always came eventually. All I had to do was tolerate that really difficult period where I didn’t have a clue what I was going to write, and then words would start forming into sentences in my mind.
Then I applied this process to life. I would write down any challenges I was facing and then try and write myself the solution. I got the same results - at first I was totally at a loss, then eventually ideas would come.
So if you’re totally stuck as to what to write or simply ‘do’ in life, don’t avoid the issue. Face it head on and sit with the uncomfortableness. Write or type down your issue, then see what happens. You might just find you have all the answers inside of you already.
